Avon House

Avon House is a residential care home providing support to older people living with dementia, caring for 19 people at the time of assessment. The CQC looked into this service after receiving information of concern, and found no evidence to support the concerns raised. A minor environmental risk had been missed but was quickly addressed by the registered manager, while other risks were well managed overall.

Inspectors found a personalised, well-organised service where staff knew people well and involved them and their families in care planning. People and relatives spoke warmly of staff, describing them as kind, patient and family-like, with good communication and plenty of activities to enjoy. The home was rated Good overall.
