About Brooklands Nursing Home

Brooklands Nursing Home is a nursing home in East Sussex. Details of the CQC's most recent findings are set out below.

Brooklands provides nursing care and accommodation for up to 29 people, most of whom live with dementia or have nursing needs. The home is set over two floors with communal lounge areas and a dining room, connected by lifts. At inspection, 19 people were living there.

Residents reported feeling safe and found staff kind, though some said they experienced long waits for assistance and staff reported feeling rushed.

Inspectors found some safety concerns. Pressure mattresses were not consistently set to the correct levels for individual residents, and call bells were sometimes out of reach, potentially leaving people at risk. While medicines were being provided as needed, shortfalls were identified in medicines records.

The provider took action to address staffing concerns following the inspection.
