Acorn Lodge

Acorn Lodge provides personal and nursing care for up to 40 older people, most living with dementia. At inspection, 23 people were living at the home in one adapted building. Relatives felt their family members were safe and that staff treated people well, with good communication about their loved ones' care. Staff demonstrated knowledge around risks associated with people's care and addressed clinical concerns appropriately.

The home was clean with staff adhering to infection control measures. However, inspectors found that paperwork was not always up to date or accurate, and analysis of accidents and incidents required improvement. Additional staffing was needed to support people with activities. Relatives felt involved in their family members' care and were complimentary about the service's approach.
