About Acorn Lodge

Acorn Lodge is a nursing home in West Sussex, providing accommodation and nursing care for older people, including those living with dementia or with mental health needs. Further detail on the CQC's most recent findings is set out below.

Acorn Lodge provides accommodation, nursing and personal care for older people, including those living with dementia or with mental health needs. The service supported 43 people at the time of assessment. The CQC found the home had made considerable progress since its previous inspection, resolving earlier breaches around safe care, safeguarding and governance, with risks now well managed and lessons learned from incidents.

Inspectors found staff kind, respectful and well trained, with enough of them to meet people's needs. People and relatives spoke warmly of staff and the registered manager, describing good communication, choice and involvement in care decisions. Activities, food and access to healthcare professionals were all well regarded.
