Could the NHS fund Bridge Haven's fees?
NHS Continuing Healthcare could cover 100% of care costs with no means test.
Bridge Haven accommodates up to 53 people requiring residential care and personal support, including those living with dementia. At inspection, 40 residents were living at the service. People reported being happy at Bridge Haven, with staff and residents having developed positive relationships within a calm and relaxed atmosphere.
The home maintained sufficient staffing levels, with staff knowing people well and meeting their individual care preferences. Staff received training to recognise and respond to abuse and discrimination, understanding their safeguarding responsibilities. However, the provider's recruitment processes were not consistently safe, which was identified as an area requiring improvement.
