Bowes House

Bowes House is a residential care home providing personal and nursing care to 81 people aged 65 and over, with capacity for up to 90 residents. The service is divided into four specialist units: two for older people on the ground floor, a nursing care unit on the first floor, and a unit for people living with dementia. Residents and their relatives spoke highly of their experience. One person said, "I am very happy with the care, I wouldn't want to change anything," while a relative praised staff for providing "excellent care, promoting dignity and being responsive to people's needs."

The home maintains safe systems for medicines management and administration. Staff have received appropriate training in supporting people at risk of choking and demonstrate understanding of these safeguarding measures. Risks to residents are assessed with clear guidance provided in care plans to ensure safe support. Staffing levels are sufficient to meet people's needs, with safe recruitment processes in place. Appropriate infection control procedures are maintained to protect residents' health and safety.
