Filsham Lodge

Filsham Lodge is situated on the outskirts of Hailsham and provides nursing care for up to 53 older people, some living with dementia. The service operates two separate units, Ash and Beech, though the registered manager confirmed the home currently accommodates a maximum of 51 people as double bedrooms are no longer used. At the time of inspection, 41 people were living at the home, all receiving nursing care and most living with dementia.

The governance of the service had not supported consistent improvement and sustainability of management standards. Whilst systems and processes existed to assess and manage risks to people, they had not identified some of the shortfalls found during the inspection. The action plan from the previous inspection had not been fully addressed.
