Filsham Lodge

Filsham Lodge provides nursing care for up to 56 older people, some living with dementia, and had 55 residents at the time of assessment. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, finding continued breaches of regulations around safe care and governance first identified previously. Inspectors found gaps in risk assessments for falls, diabetes and swallowing difficulties, unclear medicine protocols, and cleanliness and maintenance issues that put people at risk.

Staffing levels were sufficient and people were described as receiving kind, respectful care from staff who knew them well. Families felt informed and able to raise concerns. However, oversight of weights, incidents and audits was not robust enough to catch these shortfalls, and the provider has since taken steps to address the risks identified.
