Beyer Lodge Nursing Home

Beyer Lodge Nursing Home provides accommodation and nursing care for up to 16 older people aged 65 and above with mental health needs. At inspection, 13 people were living at the home. The atmosphere was relaxed, and staff spoke positively about their work and the people they supported. The registered manager was described as approachable and provided good support to staff. Staff had received training on recognising abuse and knew how to report concerns, with the provider monitoring safeguarding incidents and outcomes.

During the inspection, potential health and safety hazards were identified, including pest control traps on corridors and an unlocked outdoor shed containing cleaning products. The registered manager addressed these issues immediately when brought to attention. People received varied food and drink to meet their needs, including specialist diets. Safe recruitment practices were in place, and staffing levels were sufficient to provide safe and effective care.
