Beulah Lodge

Beulah Lodge provides care for up to five people with learning disabilities, some of whom have additional support needs such as autism. At the time of inspection, five people were living at the service. Staff have received training in infection prevention and control related to COVID-19, and the provider has tested all residents and staff in accordance with government guidance, with all vaccinated against the infection. Staff receive regular supervision and training to support them in meeting residents' needs.

The home had assessed infection risks for people and staff at higher risk due to ethnic background, health conditions, and learning disabilities. However, the registered manager had not established a suitable system to check that visitors were safe to enter the home, and checks were not always recorded in line with government guidance. The registered manager committed to improving this immediately and provided evidence of changes after the inspection. The provider's infection prevention and control policy required updating to align with current government guidance on visitor procedures.
