Berrycroft Manor

Berrycroft Manor is a purpose-built residential care home accommodating up to 78 people across six units on three floors, providing personal care and accommodation to older people and those living with dementia. At inspection, 75 people were using the service. The home supports people to have maximum choice and control over their lives, with staff adopting the least restrictive approach in their best interests. Care files are person-centred and reflect people's preferences for care and support.

However, inspectors identified significant concerns. Medicines were not always managed and administered safely, and staff were not assured people received medications appropriately. Care plans and risk assessments were not consistently current or accurate, failing to provide staff with necessary information to safely meet people's needs. Where people required specific support such as regular repositioning, staff did not maintain clear records of care provided. All environmental safety checks were satisfactory, though the inspector recommended improving activity staff provision and meaningful activities for people cared for in their rooms.
