Beachview

Beachview is a residential care home providing care for up to 10 young people with learning disabilities, some of whom also have physical disabilities. At the time of inspection, 9 people were living at the service. However, inspectors found significant concerns about how the home manages people's support and safety. Support needs and risks were not always appropriately managed, and the provider lacked effective systems to protect people from avoidable harm. Staffing levels were inadequate to meet residents' needs and keep them safe, preventing people from getting up when they wanted to and restricting their choices.

Systems to protect people from abuse were not always effective, and staff deployment sometimes prevented residents' expressed choices from being respected. The inspection identified that the service did not have sufficient staffing to ensure safe care provision or to support people's independence and involvement in decisions about their own care.
