Bay Tree House

Bay Tree House provides personal care and accommodation for up to 16 older people living with dementia, currently supporting 15 residents in an adapted period building with two floors and lift access. Inspectors found that medicines management was not consistently safe, with arrangements in place risking errors that quality monitoring systems had failed to identify. While staff supported people in person-centred ways with maximum choice and control, records did not properly evidence this approach as required by the Mental Capacity Act. Care plans did not reflect formal involvement from residents or those with legal authority to make decisions on their behalf, despite relatives expressing they wanted greater involvement in this process.
