Barnston Court Care Home

The home was managing a COVID-19 outbreak safely, with people receiving appropriate care in line with government guidance. Staff reported feeling supported throughout the pandemic, and despite people being cared for in their rooms, the atmosphere remained upbeat. Inspectors observed kind and caring interactions between residents and staff.

The home demonstrated strong infection prevention measures, with the registered manager and senior staff maintaining good records and effective systems. Staff had received appropriate training and made effective use of PPE and infection control practices. The home was clean, and the registered manager conducted regular audits to ensure the environment remained safe. The area manager praised the team, noting "The staff have been superb, there is a good morale amongst the team." The home made good use of testing programs to identify and manage COVID-19 cases effectively.
