Dundoran Nursing and Residential Home

This nursing and residential home accommodates up to 39 people requiring nursing or personal care, with 21 residents at the time of inspection. The majority of people living there have dementia or other mental health needs. Following serious safety concerns identified in a previous inspection, the provider has made improvements, though these require further time to demonstrate sustained progress. Care records are individualised and reflect each person's needs and preferences, with risks properly assessed and staff guidance provided to reduce avoidable harm. Medicines management has improved significantly, with people receiving their prescribed medicines as scheduled and staff receiving regular training and competence checks. However, monitoring records for diet and fluids are not consistently up to date and don't always demonstrate that people received the care they needed in these areas.
