Dundoran Nursing and Residential Home

Dundoran Nursing and Residential Home provides nursing and residential care for up to 39 older people living with dementia. At the time of the CQC's assessment, 28 people were living there. Although concerns had been raised beforehand about the environment and safety of care, inspectors found people were receiving safe, well-managed support, with refurbishment underway to improve some areas needing attention.

Care plans had been rewritten and improved monitoring systems were in place. Staff were trained, responsive and worked well with healthcare professionals. People and families spoke positively about the newly appointed manager, describing an open, approachable culture where concerns were addressed promptly.

The home was rated Good overall.
