Windy Knowe Nursing Home

Windy Knowe Nursing Home provides nursing care and accommodation for up to 49 older people, including those living with dementia and physical disabilities. At inspection, 31 residents were living at the home. The environment was clean and well-maintained, with effective infection prevention procedures in place. Staff had access to necessary personal protective equipment with well-managed stock levels, and appropriate PPE was consistently worn during the inspection.

Staffing was effectively managed with consistent allocation to specific floors to reduce cross-contamination risks. Regular testing was undertaken for residents and staff, with high-risk and vulnerable individuals identified and receiving appropriate support measures. The home supported relatives to maintain contact through video calls and a visiting pod to facilitate socially distanced visits. The registered manager ensured staff were fully informed and updated on relevant COVID-19 policies and procedures.
