About Balmain Care Home

Balmain Care Home is a residential care home in Plymouth, offering personal care and support to adults of working age with mental health needs. The findings below set out the CQC's most recent observations of the service.

Balmain Care Home provides personal care and support for up to 29 people of working age experiencing severe and enduring mental health conditions. At inspection, 25 people were living at the service.

Residents understood the risks of Covid-19 and their collective responsibilities to one another and staff. Since the pandemic began, residents had chosen to limit their interactions to protect each other, forming their own household bubble. While the registered manager and staff supported residents in socially distancing, observations showed that some residents were struggling with isolation measures.
