Balby

Balby is a residential care home providing support to younger adults living with a learning disability, mental health conditions or autism, with 7 people using the service at the time of the assessment. The CQC rated the home Requires Improvement overall, finding breaches relating to safeguarding, governance and medicines management. Quality and safety systems were in place but had not been effective in identifying some concerns, and the provider took immediate action to protect people from harm.

Inspectors found most people spoke positively about staff, describing them as kind, and enjoyed a range of activities. However, some people and relatives raised concerns about their care and treatment, with one relative saying trust had been affected following recent safeguarding allegations.
