About Ashby Lodge Residential Home

Ashby Lodge Residential Home is a residential care home in Wakefield, offering care for older people, including those living with dementia. The CQC's most recent findings are set out below.

Ashby Lodge Residential Home provides residential care for up to 21 older people, including those living with dementia. The CQC carried out a responsive assessment after concerns were raised, and rated the service Requires Improvement overall. Inspectors found governance systems were not effective, incidents were not thoroughly investigated, and staff supervisions and some key records were lacking, though a newly appointed manager had begun addressing these issues.

Despite this, people and relatives gave consistently positive feedback, saying they felt safe and well cared for. Staff were found to be caring, patient and knowledgeable, offering good activities and supporting people's independence, choice and dignity throughout their care.
