Allingham House Care Centre

Allingham House Care Centre provides personal and nursing care for up to 86 young and older people, including those living with dementia and mental health needs. The CQC rated the home Good overall, finding sufficient staff, thorough recruitment, and appropriate training, including in the Mental Capacity Act. Medicines were mostly managed correctly and the environment was generally clean, with flooring improvements underway.

Inspectors found staff warm and attentive, with people treated as individuals and involved in decisions about their care. Some relatives felt the manager could be more visible, and concerns were raised about the challenging behaviour unit, though improvements such as increased corridor space had already been made before the assessment concluded.
