Adalena House, in Blackpool, provides accommodation with nursing or personal care for up to six people with a physical disability, learning disability and/or autism. The CQC rated the home Requires Improvement overall, finding breaches relating to safe staffing and to governance and oversight. Recruitment checks and staffing rotas were not always reliable, some staff worked excessively long hours, and medicines were not always stored or managed safely.

Inspectors found care and support were kind, with people and relatives speaking positively about staff, though people were not always treated as individuals and some records lacked detail. Consent and best interest decisions were not always fully documented, and systems to identify and address concerns were not always effective.
