Could the NHS fund Abbey Court Care Home's fees?
NHS Continuing Healthcare could cover 100% of care costs with no means test.
Abbey Court Care Home accommodates 60 people aged 65 and over across two separate units. The Oaks unit operates on the ground floor, while the Elms unit on the first floor provides care for people living with dementia. The home provides accommodation, personal care, and nursing care as a single package.
The provider has made improvements to support people's choice and control, with staff using the least restrictive approaches possible. Staff receive training and support to meet residents' needs, and sufficient staffing levels are in place to keep people safe. People are involved in planning their care, and staff recognise and promote residents' individuality. However, improvements are needed to ensure care plans consistently reflect people's needs and preferences, and to strengthen systems for monitoring how staff are deployed throughout the day and for tracking safety-related incidents.
