Aarandale Lodge

Aarandale Lodge provides personal care accommodation for up to 20 people, with 15 residents at the time of inspection. The service implemented robust infection prevention measures including whole home testing for residents and staff, staff training on PPE use, and appropriate hygiene practices with masks, gloves, and aprons observed throughout. The environment was visibly clean with established cleaning schedules in place.

The home prioritised maintaining residents' connections with family during visitor restrictions. Video and telephone calls were facilitated, garden visits were supported when weather permitted, and an internal pod was built to enable face-to-face contact. For relatives of people nearing end of life, special arrangements allowed visits with protective measures including temperature checks, PPE, rapid testing, and separate building entrances to minimise infection risks.
