Woolston Mead

Woolston Mead is a residential care home providing personal care to up to 28 people, primarily older adults, some of whom live with dementia. At inspection, 24 people were using the service. Staff delivered care in a caring and patient manner, and people spoke positively about their experience, feeling comfortable with staff who knew them well and had developed positive relationships with them.

Inspectors identified areas for improvement, particularly around risk assessments and care plans that accurately reflected current needs, with special attention needed for new admissions and people returning from hospital. Some bedroom areas required enhanced cleanliness and decoration standards. The registered manager and provider demonstrated responsiveness to feedback and took immediate action to address identified issues, showing a commitment to delivering high quality care. Governance systems were in place to monitor both the safety of the environment and quality of care delivery.
