Woodland Vale provides accommodation and personal care for 20 people in a purpose-built service with two ground-floor units. All bedrooms are single occupancy, and communal spaces include a conservatory accessible from an external door, which is used for family visits. The service maintains rigorous infection control practices, with all visitors required to arrange visits in advance, complete health declarations, provide contact details, and have their temperature checked. Staff ensure hand washing and appropriate use of personal protective equipment for everyone entering the building. Cleaning regimes are detailed and thorough, with high-touch areas like door handles wiped down more than twice daily. People are supported to maintain contact with family and friends through phone calls, FaceTime, garden visits, and socially distanced visits in the pre-bookable conservatory, with time allocated for cleaning between visits. Staff have adequate access to personal protective equipment, and the service has established policies and procedures for infection control, COVID-19, and safe admissions that are consistently followed.
