Winchester House

Winchester House is a care home supporting up to 123 people with nursing and care needs across six units, including specialist provision for people with complex nursing needs and dementia. At inspection, 90 people were living there with adequate staffing levels in place. Residents reported feeling safe, with one person saying "it's safe here, and they always check on me," while another praised staff as "professional and do what I ask of them." The home investigates safeguarding incidents and accidents thoroughly, working closely with local authority teams to prevent reoccurrence, and safeguarding alerts have reduced significantly.

Care plan files are kept up-to-date and contain necessary information to support people's needs. However, the care plans reviewed were difficult to read and follow due to large amounts of handwritten information without a summary of each person's key needs.
