Wimborne

Wimborne provides accommodation and personal care to older people and those living with dementia, supporting up to 52 residents. At inspection, 41 people were living at the service. However, significant concerns were identified regarding medicines management, with assessments not always conducted comprehensively or completed fully. Incidents had not consistently been investigated in a timely manner, and notifications were not always submitted to the local authority and CQC as required by law, meaning people could not be assured of consistent protection from harm.

Despite these shortcomings, the provider demonstrated effective staff deployment during the inspection, with people receiving their care and support at the required times. The service had governance systems in place, though these arrangements were not consistently effective at driving improvement and maintaining safety. Staff recruitment was underway for various roles, and the provider showed responsiveness when concerns were raised.
