Whitwood House

Whitwood House provides residential care for up to 16 people, with 12 residents present during the inspection. The service supports people with learning disabilities and autism, focusing on their strengths and helping them achieve meaningful daily lives and personal aspirations. Staff work collaboratively with residents to plan for periods of distress, using restraint only as a last resort when no alternatives exist. The service has significantly reduced restraint incidents through improved support approaches and carefully reviews each occurrence to inform practice. Residents have choice over their living environment and can personalize their rooms to reflect their preferences.
