This care home provides personal care for 25 people, most of whom are living with dementia. Staff asked residents for consent before supporting them with care tasks, and people were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives. However, the service had significant shortcomings in how it managed consent and safeguarding. Mental capacity assessments and best interest decisions were not always specific to individual decisions or completed in line with regulations, and relatives were sometimes signing consent forms without lawful authority. Recruitment procedures were not always safe, and equipment checks for moving people were not being completed regularly, despite these areas being included in the service's audit processes.
