About Whiston Hall

Whiston Hall is a residential care home in Rotherham, offering personal care for people including those living with dementia. The findings below set out what CQC observed during its most recent inspection.

Whiston Hall is a care home providing personal care and accommodation for up to 48 people, including some living with dementia. At the time of the assessment, 30 people lived there. The CQC found the home overall good, with people saying they felt safe and well cared for, though views on staffing levels and food quality were mixed.

Inspectors identified one breach relating to management oversight, as systems had not always been effective in spotting areas needing improvement, and there was no registered manager in post at the time, though a new manager had recently joined. Some residents and relatives felt the building and furnishings needed investment, describing worn décor and cramped communal spaces.
