Westwood Lodge Care Home

Westwood Lodge is a care home providing accommodation, personal and nursing care for up to 44 younger and older people, including those living with dementia or mental health needs. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, finding progress since the last inspection but continuing concerns around medicines management, record keeping, infection control and governance, resulting in a breach of regulation.

Inspectors found staff were kind, caring and treated people with compassion, and staffing levels and safeguarding processes had improved. However, further work was needed on person-centred care, activities, dining experience and building maintenance, and audits had not consistently identified where improvements were required.
