Westwood Lodge provides nursing and personal care for up to 44 people, with 39 residents at the time of inspection including those living with dementia and drug and alcohol misuse conditions. The service demonstrated strong infection control practices, with enhanced cleaning of frequent touch points such as handrails and door handles, and staff assigned to set floors to prevent cross-infection. The provider facilitated safe visits for residents and encouraged those going out to wear masks in public spaces. Residents were supported to maintain social distance in communal areas. An infection prevention specialist had recently visited and the registered manager implemented their recommendations for improved infection control practices.
