Westerley Care Home

Westerley Care Home is a residential care home providing accommodation and personal care for up to 30 older people, most of whom are living with dementia. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, finding breaches relating to safeguarding, risk management, staffing levels and governance. Inspectors found people were not always supported to drink enough fluids, night staffing was insufficient, and safeguarding concerns had not always been referred appropriately.

Staff were found to be kind, respectful and attentive to people's dignity and choices, and care remained person-centred with good involvement from relatives. However, quality monitoring was not always effective, and some staff felt unsupported by management, raising concerns about the culture within the home.
