Westcombe Park Care Home

Westcombe Park Care Home provides nursing and personal care for up to 45 adults in a single adapted building. At inspection, 30 people were using the service. Residents reported being well looked after with kind staff, and a relative praised the home highly, stating they would "give them top marks for cleanliness and their Covid-19 measures." Staff followed safe infection control practices and supported people to have maximum choice and control of their lives in the least restrictive way possible.

The home has made significant improvements to its operations. Changes were implemented to the management of deprivation of liberty safeguards to ensure compliance. The framework for staff training and support has been strengthened, with staff receiving training and competency checks across all aspects of care, including areas previously identified such as end of life care and dementia. Environmental improvements include additional signage to help people orientate themselves, and the home has enhanced its system for overseeing quality and safety to identify and address any issues promptly.
