About West Hill Care Home

West Hill Care Home is a nursing home in Kent, providing care for older people, including some living with dementia. Details of the most recent CQC findings are set out below.

West Hill Care Home provides care and support for up to 77 older people, some living with dementia, across four floors. The CQC has rated the service inadequate and placed it in special measures, taking enforcement action against the provider. Inspectors found a closed, poor culture that had not been recognised or addressed, along with breaches relating to safe care, dignity, safeguarding and governance.

Risks were not always properly assessed, medicines were not always safely managed, and safeguarding concerns were sometimes missed. Staff training gaps and unclear evacuation plans added to concerns. Leadership had not driven improvement, though the service was found clean and staff were said to value diversity.
