Kentwood House

Kentwood House provides accommodation with personal and nursing care to up to 32 people, including those with complex nursing needs and dementia. The home is arranged across two floors with lift access. At inspection, 11 people were using the service. Staff demonstrated good knowledge of people's needs and respected their wishes and preferences in how they wanted to be supported. Risks to people had been identified and staff understood safeguarding procedures, explaining what action they would take if they suspected abuse or neglect. The home maintained good infection control standards, with staff wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and the service being clean. However, the provider needed to improve the detail in people's mental capacity assessments and provide more comprehensive guidance on specific health needs such as diabetes, anxiety and depression to enable staff to support people more effectively.
