Could the NHS fund West Cotes Residential Care Home's fees?
NHS Continuing Healthcare could cover 100% of care costs with no means test.
West Cotes Residential Care Home provides personal care to people aged 65 and over, accommodating 10 residents at the time of inspection with capacity for up to 17. Most infection control guidance was being followed, though staff were not consistently checking their temperatures at the start of each shift.
Management of the home had improved with audits now in place, though some planned actions lacked clarity. More time was needed to fully embed the systems for monitoring care within the home's management practices. Relatives reported feeling confident that their loved one was safe living at the home, with risks identified and managed appropriately.
