Wellcroft

Wellcroft provides personal care to 42 people aged 65 and over across two floors, each with communal lounge and dining areas. People feel safe, with risk assessments and regular equipment maintenance in place. Medicines are safely stored with appropriate guidance for as-needed medications. The home supports residents to maintain independence through a homely environment adapted to their needs, and staff generally provide kind, caring support while understanding individual care requirements.

The service ensures people receive appropriate diets and access to healthcare services. Staff support residents to have maximum choice and control over their lives in the least restrictive way possible. Whilst recruitment systems are in place, some people felt staffing levels could be higher. Overall, staff demonstrate positive interactions with residents and know their care needs well, though there are occasions when care becomes task-focused rather than person-centred.
