About Welcome Home

Welcome Home, in Kent, is a residential service supporting up to five adults with a learning disability and/or autism. The CQC rated it Requires Improvement overall, finding gaps in risk management, medicines handling, staff training and building maintenance, including epilepsy monitors not being used and unrepaired wheelchair ramps. Inspectors also found the provider had not effectively monitored quality or identified these shortfalls, and staffing levels limited people's access to activities.

Despite this, staff were found to have a good understanding of people's needs and treated them with kindness, dignity and respect. Relatives described staff as caring and attentive, and praised the registered manager. The provider was found in breach of regulations covering safe care, staffing and governance, and has been asked for an action plan.
