Wasdale Court

Wasdale Court is a residential care home providing support to people with a learning disability and autistic people, with 7 people living there at the time of assessment. The CQC found the service requires improvement overall. High staff turnover and use of agency staff had affected consistency of care, some areas needed refurbishment, and identified risks, including fire door issues, had not been addressed promptly.

Governance and quality checks were not always effective.

Inspectors found positive aspects too, including a well-regarded new registered manager, supportive staff supervision, and safe medicines management. Relatives acknowledged improvements and felt the service was safe, though some said frequent staff changes had unsettled their family members. The provider must submit an action plan addressing the governance breach identified.
