Victoria Mews

Victoria Mews provides personal care to a maximum of 30 younger adults, older adults and people living with dementia. At the time of inspection, 26 people lived at the home. The registered manager had implemented strong infection control measures including a visitor code of conduct with temperature checks and risk assessments. Staff wore masks with clear panels to support people with hearing impairments, and cleaning schedules had been increased with additional audits to monitor compliance.

The home demonstrated commitment to staff wellbeing during challenging times. The registered manager and deputy manager were trained as mental health first aiders to support staff with signs of mental ill health. Staff received signposting to confidential helpline support services. Leadership also shared learning about pandemic impacts with Healthwatch Coventry, contributing to sector-wide understanding. Communication guidance was implemented to help staff interact effectively with people whilst wearing protective equipment.
