About Tolson Grange

Tolson Grange is a residential care home in Kirklees, providing support for older people, including those living with dementia. Details of the most recent CQC findings are set out below.

Tolson Grange, in Kirklees, is a residential home for up to 42 people, including those living with dementia. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, following an earlier good rating. Inspectors found staff kind but inconsistent in protecting people's dignity, and identified a breach relating to safe management of medicines, along with weaknesses in care planning, risk management and staffing for activities.

Most residents and relatives felt safe and spoke positively about staff, though views on food quality were mixed and opportunities to go out or use the garden were limited. Inspectors noted governance had not always caught these issues but were assured the management team was working to address them.
