Thornfield House

Thornfield House provides care and support to people with learning disabilities. The service accommodates seven residents in a large domestic-style property that blends into the residential area. Despite exceeding current best practice guidance on home size, the building design and deliberate lack of institutional features—no identifying signs, intercoms, cameras, or industrial bins—mitigate any negative impacts. Staff are discouraged from wearing uniforms when accompanying residents, further normalizing the home's appearance within the community.
