The Borrins Care Home

This 30-bedded residential care home provides accommodation for older people and those with physical disabilities. At the time of inspection, 23 people were receiving care on both permanent and respite bases.

Medication management presented significant concerns. There were no documentation systems in place for creams, and protocols for medicines administered as needed were absent. Although the registered manager and provider had conducted audits, these systems failed to identify the medication management issues and care plan inaccuracies that inspectors discovered. However, the registered manager and provider demonstrated a responsive approach to the inspection findings and took action during the inspection process.
