About The Terrace

The Terrace is a residential care home in North Yorkshire. Details of the CQC's most recent findings are set out below.

The Terrace, in North Yorkshire, is a residential care home providing accommodation and personal or nursing care for up to 44 older people, including those living with dementia. The CQC rated it Requires Improvement overall, finding breaches relating to consent, safe medicines management and governance. Medicines were not always managed safely, incidents were not always learned from, and the home lacked a registered manager, deputy manager and cook at the time.

Inspectors found staff kind but stretched, with insufficient numbers to provide meaningful engagement, and some undignified language reported. Families said care felt safe but activities and food needed improvement, and communication, while improving, remained inconsistent. A service improvement plan was in place and the provider was working with the local authority to address the shortfalls.
