The Rowans Care Home

The Rowans Care Home provides personal care to older and younger people, including those living with dementia and mental health conditions. Following earlier significant shortfalls, which had placed the service in Special Measures, the CQC found major improvements under a newly recruited manager, and the home is no longer rated inadequate or in Special Measures.

Inspectors found risks were now properly assessed, staff understood fire procedures, and people and relatives spoke positively about care, kindness and activities on offer. However, staffing deployment, staff training and support, and leadership systems still needed further work, leaving the home rated Requires Improvement overall.
