Kirkella Mansions Residential Home

Kirkella Mansion provides personal and nursing care to 40 people aged 65 and over, including those living with dementia. At inspection, 24 people were using the service. Staff numbers were adequate to meet people's needs, and residents reported feeling safe.

However, significant concerns remained with medication management, risk management, and governance. Medication was not being managed safely and inspectors could not confirm people received prescribed doses as intended. Accident and incident records were incomplete and not monitored effectively, preventing the service from learning lessons and improving. While quality monitoring and governance systems had been implemented, they were not robust enough to identify the shortfalls found during inspection. These issues persisted despite previous recommendations made at the last inspection.
