The Orchards

The Orchards is a residential care home providing personal and nursing care to 25 older people, some living with dementia. The service has capacity for up to 66 people across three separate floors with adapted facilities on each level. Staff demonstrate genuine care for residents and know each person well, ensuring people's views are respected and they are involved in decisions affecting them. One relative commented, "I am incredibly relieved that [family member] has landed at a place where I consistently feel all their emotional needs are being met and stimulation is more than being met."

The home maintains systems to manage medicines safely and reduce infection risks. Staff numbers are sufficient to meet people's needs, and the team receives training to develop the necessary skills and knowledge for their roles. Care is personalised, with staff described as kind, caring and motivated. Residents report happiness at the home, relatives express trust in the staff team, and external professionals are complimentary about the quality of care provided.
