The Old Red Lion

The Old Red Lion, in Nottinghamshire, is a residential care home providing support to younger autistic adults and adults with a learning disability. It is rated Outstanding overall by the CQC, which found the environment thoughtfully adapted to individual sensory needs, and staff who understood people deeply and communicated with warmth and patience.

Inspectors found people were supported to build independence, confidence and life skills at their own pace, with anxiety managed through personalised, calming approaches and reduced restrictive practices. Relatives described significant improvements in their loved ones' wellbeing and confidence, and people themselves appeared relaxed, happy and secure around staff throughout the assessment.
