The Old Downs Dementia Residential Care Home provides residential care for people living with dementia. The CQC assessed the safe and well-led areas of the service after concerns were raised about risk management and support, and found it was performing well overall, maintaining its Good rating.

Inspectors found risks to people were properly assessed and managed, medicines were handled safely, and staff were trained, supervised and recruited appropriately. People and relatives said they felt safe, well cared for and involved in decisions. The environment was well maintained, staffing levels were sufficient, and leaders monitored quality closely, acting promptly when shortfalls arose.
