The Oaks Care Home

The Oaks Care Home provides personal care for up to 9 people with learning disabilities. At inspection, all 9 residents were living at the service. Staff supported people to have maximum choice and control of their lives and generally followed best practice in decision-making, supporting people in the least restrictive way possible. Staff communicated effectively with people in ways that met their individual needs.

However, inspectors identified that care records needed improvement to ensure they clearly outlined presenting issues and demonstrated the support being provided. Infection prevention and control practices reflected current guidance, though audit documents for monitoring room cleanliness needed to be used more effectively. The provider was in the process of addressing these issues alongside refurbishing the service.
