The Meadows

The Meadows is a purpose-built residential care home accommodating up to 54 people, with 53 residents at the time of inspection. The service is organised into four separate houses across ground and first floors, three housing 15 people each and one housing 9 people, with lifts and staircases providing access. The home is designed to meet the needs of older people, including those living with dementia, and includes a small enclosed garden. Staff assessed people's care and support needs, though risk assessments were not always regularly reviewed and sometimes lacked clear guidance for staff. The provider addressed this during the inspection by adding additional measures to their IT systems to ensure timely and consistent risk assessment reviews. Inspectors found that staff did not always follow infection prevention and control guidance to minimise risks related to infection spread.
