The Manor - Care Home Physical Disabilities

This purpose-built care home provides accommodation for up to 22 people with physical disabilities across two storeys and three adjacent bungalows. At inspection, 20 people were being supported. Each person has an ensuite in their room, with communal areas including a lounge, dining space, and accessible hobby areas.

Staff demonstrated good safeguarding knowledge and understood how to protect people from abuse, with appropriate training in place. Care plans accurately reflected each person's support needs and risks. The service maintained adequate staffing levels with appropriately skilled staff to keep people safe and meet their needs.

However, inspectors identified poor infection prevention and control practices that put people at risk of cross contamination, despite staff having received up-to-date training. The provider committed to urgently addressing these matters.
